2. D&G Dolce & Gabbana Black Lily, £695
The bad girl look (think leather, biker boots, chunky zips and studs) is big for A/W. If head to toe is off the agenda, add just a touch with D&G's Lily. (Note it's not all that photogenic but it's fab in the flesh.)
3. Alexander McQueen Elvie, £830
The Elvie isn't new this season but this simply stunning bone colour is. Add glamour to any outfit with an Elvie on your arm.
4. Yves Saint Laurent Muse, £1,020
We're head over heels in love with Yves Saint Laurent's Muse in clay grey. Power and elegance personified, it's a bag that means businesses.
5. Lanvin Patent Bag with Chain Link Shoulder Strap, £1,140
Lanvin's collection for A/W was top of our list and this on trend (but equally timeless) green patent bag doesn't let the side down.
6. Mulberry Roxanne Tote, £395
Inspired by the iconic Roxanne, Mulberry's range of patent Roxanne Totes are set to be super popular this season and it's easy to see why. If you know you need to do more with colour but can't quite cope with head to toe then this is the perfect compromise.

If you're after something a little more understated then the Heloise in brown leather is the answer. Its plaited straps give it a vintage feel that fits with the season's folkloric trend perfectly.
