La Dolce Vita with Viva Italia, London's largest and only Italian festival for 2008, is bringing new fashion trends and luxury Italian chocolate together at Olympia on Thursday 13 March – Sunday 16th March; just in time to stock up on both for Easter.
Chocoholics and fashionistas can gather to indulge themselves without worrying about their waistline. Visitors at La Dolce Vita with Viva Italia will be able to watch a selection of fashion catwalks whilst indulging in the rare opportunity to taste locally produced Italian chocolates almost impossible to find outside Italy. These include the mouth watering chocolate almonds of Southern Italy, the famous hazelnut chocolates from Turin, paired with delicious local Italian liquors, chocolate coated figs from Calabria and more regional specialities.
Luxury promises to be key to La Dolce Vita. For those with a penchant for Italian fashion a host of new Italian designers, in association with the Fashion Career Network - Nolcha, will be showcasing their latest collections in catwalk shows. Numerous boutiques will be selling everything from gloves, bags, coats and shoes to home accessories. Visitors will also be able to pamper themselves with a selection of hair and beauty treatments available in the style section of the show. Shoppers can also meander through 'Corso Como' to discover some of Italy's finest fashion labels.
And if that is not enough, chocolate lovers can also choose from an exclusive line up of chocolate workshops including The Chocolate World of Italy, The Hidden Secrets of an Italian Chocolatiere and Artisan Regional Chocolate Treasures to learn more about the world's favourite aphrodisiac.
From the dark origins of chocolate drunk in the cioccolaterie (chocolate houses) to the hidden secrets of real chocolate and learning how luxurious Italian chocolate is made, the workshops allow visitors to discover all there is to know, taste, and explore in the world of chocolate.
